2nd Annual International Women's Day Dance

  • National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts & Culture 3015 West Division Street Chicago, IL, 60622 United States (map)

DJ Tess of Slo 'Mo is joining returning DJ OCD for a night of dancing. Come raise a drink and dollars for women and girs in the Chicago region with us! The Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LBTQ) Giving Council of the Chicago Foundation for Women is proud to host its second Annual International Women’s Day Dance on March 12, 2016.

Tickets will include an all-night open bar and hors d’oeuvres. All proceeds go to the LGTQ Giving Council of CFW to be granted to local organizations dedicated to supporting queer women and girls in Chicago.

Last year we successfully revived this Chicago tradition, bringing together over 120 members of the community and allies from across the city to raise over $5,000. All of these dollars were given back to the community in the form of grants; a total of $14,000 was awarded to four organizations by the LBTQ Giving Council in 2015. Through the years, we’ve given over $95,000 in grants to twelve organizations and programs including Youth Empowerment Performance Project (YEPP), a safe space for queer youth experiencing housing instability or homelessness to explore their history and address their struggles; and Affinity Community Services, a social justice organization working on behalf of black LGBTQ communities.

At this year’s event we will raise at least $6,000; and we need your support to do so!
